Daily life can be a source of great inspiration if you have a Lilliputian eye to spot it. This is certainly the case for Japanese miniature and mitate artist Tanaka Tatsuya, who masters his craft by using unconventional tools and objects that, in the real world, serve entirely different purposes.
Creating clouds from rice or a Japanese sauna from a frosted whipped cream cake – and who would have thought that thin onion slices could represent water ponds?
We made a small selection of Tanaka Tatsuya’s miniatures and encourage you to follow his latest works on his Instagram profile.
